fibroscan 39.9

i ve been sober for 1 year had first fibroscan said f4 about 10 months ago just had another still at 39.9 i guess no worse is good. i was drinking about pint and a half of vodka a day for 15 yrs

Hi jjeff , I have never had a fibroscan ever and I have cirrhosis now 8 yrs , I thought that a fibroscan reading was from 1/50 ? Only that is what my friend who has end stage liver diseases told me and get reading was 8.7 . Glad to hear your doing well 😊

Hi Jeff. Have you been diagnosed with cirrhosis? My understanding is that fibroscan reads from 1 to 75. Yours is quite high. Fibroscan measures stiffness of liver. Great that you have cut out drinking altogether. Well done! Keep it up. Your liver hopefully is stable as the cause of any damage has been removed. So no further damage should occur.

Hi , we were advised that a reading of 12.5 and above means you have cirrohsis ( Scottish view, it may be different in England). Don't be disheartened a number of things can impact on readings but you have removed a major route cause of liver disease i.e alcohol , have a look at diet and see if you can make any further changes to support .good liver health. Speak to your health professional , is there anything else that could be causing high reading , kind regards.😊

I have been sober 4 years and my scan recently was 75kpa, 1 year before that is was the same. Absolutely frightened the life out of me but I'm healty, hold down a full time job and do regular light exercise. I have been diagnosed with chronic liver disease and cirrhosis.

Stay off the booze, eat lots of fruit and veg and drink lots of water. Stay positive and miracles can happen.

Hi my fibrosis is 63. 6 months ago. I have cirrhosis was first diagnosed and hospitalized most of last year. But have / no symptoms now. Thinking of going back to work. I read your post was hoping your score improved. I stopped drinking too over a yr. Do you know what percentage of your liver is damaged? Being a 75. I always try to find that on the web. What does your doctor's say? I'm just trying to figure out what percentage of my liver is functioning
