Have Autoimmune Hep. and Cirrhosis legs feel like lead sometimes why and any suggestions what would help?
Are your legs painful? If so it could be Neuropathy my GP put me on Pregabalin a few weeks ago and they have really helped. Or it maybe water retention (Odeama) in which you may need tablets for that. All in all you need to see your GP. My advice is off the top of my head and past experiences, so don't take it as gospel
Sorry I can't be much help but I have exactly the same, when I mentioned it to my consultant he said he wasn't worried about it,not much help to me !!!!! My go thought it was mineral deficiency but that came back OK,however I am anaemic.Hope you find the answer,I thought it was just me,not much help I know but at least we know we're not alone !! Incidentally my right leg is always worse than my left and when it's warm x
Hi - I have AIH too and on bude - I have this sensation too and for some time. Sometimes worse than other times - no explanation - when I'm in bed it feels as if the blood is 'pooling' in my calves or if I've walked up a thousand steps. It isn't of course but that's just how it feels. I've been told could be not drinking enough water.
Thanks for your reply and advice I will talk again with my consultant next month about it.
My legs are bad too! 1. They have changed and become "heavier" 2. They hurt and in the morning walking is difficult and it feels as if there is a resistance, like meter high snow I am pushing through. 3. None of my dr:s are interested, they just say "Not related". 4. It is a major problem cause it hurts and I am late all the time. 5. Exercise does not help but 6. Warm weather does. I spent a week in teneriffe and my legs were much better.
Really very tired of the fact that this problem is not taken seriously. It affects me greatly. Hope you get some answers!

If it is fluid retention I am thinking that the area where you have that feeling should feel like when you touch an inflated water balloon. To control it the advice is to diminish salt intake and of course a water pill (spironolactone, furosemide, amiloride).
