Hello there, I have been running 5k for a while now and yesterday kept running till 7.5k and it felt ok. What I wanted to ask is there a weekly plan to get to 10k? Many thanks

Welcome to bridge to 10k and congratulations on that 7,5km.

Are you asking whether a one run a week plan exists? I might be misreading that!

The Magic plan linked here has three runs a week or two runs a week options, and you can choose whether to follow the time or distance versions. I’m guessing if you’re used to running 5km, the distance version might suit best. That’s how I got to 10km. It’s a nice plan, easy to follow and you can switch around the order of the runs to suit how busy you are.

I’ve also followed the Nike Run Clubb10k plan on their app. That’s a nice one too- it has commentary on the runs if that’s your thing. It’s a bit marmite but I enjoyed it. Five runs a week js not recommended unless youve built up to that-most choose three or make a week last longer to keep rest days.

Those are the two most popular plans that people follow, but if you google for any beginner 10k plan, all of them will get you there. It’s nuts what you like the look of most and what fits with how you like to run! Good luck with whatever you go for!

Thanks so much for your reply. The Magic Plan sounds great. I like the mix up of run lengths. I wasn’t sure how best to move to 10k from 5K without causing me injury given I am only running a few months. Enjoy your Sunday 😀

I've used the NRC 10K plan as well and really liked it!!

I did a mix of picking and choosing three runs/calendar week or five runs with rest days in between/10 day week.
