It’s a continuing period of over the top ‘busy’ness. I’ll be so glad when this week is over.

The good news is I’m maintaining my three runs a week on my 10K training plan.

I went out earlier last week for a 7K run. I knew I was in a tight deadline to run, shower, and catch a train. I think having those mental distractions did me in. I made it to 5K and then decided to throw in the towel.

I was a bit worried as it had been two weeks earlier since I ran my first 10K and I wanted a >5K run to prep for a Sunday 10K (my only day off). But too much mental baggage that day.

Should have planned an evening run.

At any rate, I went out on Sunday in good spirits, took it very slow and steady, and did the 10K without any issue. I even had some energy to increase my pace in that last KM with CB’s encouragement.

All’s well that ends well!

🍏🙌 Often mixing up the distances & doing some shorter runs gives one oomph to enjoy a longer 10k. Well done 👍

Sometimes we just got to be kind to ourselves. It sounds like you are a bit frantic. Don't let the runs become another source of stress! Great job on the 10K.

The runs are my salvation at the moment. But you're right - manage the expectations during these busy times.

Looking forward to a Chase the Sun 5K in Stratford's Olympic Park tonight after my busy day. Just looking for the run (and the bling) and no PB or anything else...
