Having not run since last Tuesday, due to having felt a bit fatigued lately, I decided today would be the day to get back out there.....London Marathon day ๐
Went through the normal ritual of not being able to find my keys and trying not to disturb the dog as I crept back and forth to the loo several times, why is that? nerves? anticipation? anyone else have that? Then realised weโve run out of bananaโs ๐ฌ so no snack before I go....didnโt fancy a twix first thing in the morning ๐คช
Anyway eventually got out through the front door and the weather was awful, absolutely chucking it down โ๏ธ warm up walk over I chose Nike Run Club....Run with Eliud, which looked appropriate....a 60 minute run with Coach Bennett and the great man himself Eliud Kipchoge.
Set off slowly today as pacing myself would be important. I noticed immediately that Eliud has a very strong accent so I was glad that Coach Bennett who was simply swooning over everything he said was also repeating it.....โThe road is long be kind to yourselfโ I thought to myself how true that is and kept going at a slower than normal pace, well after much puddle dodging and picking up the pace when I saw a big one and a white van heading towards it I completed the run, I must say I enjoyed hearing all about Eliud Kipchoge, his beginnings /achievements and mindset he adopts.
I kept going after the 60 mins had ended and reached home with my Fitbit reading 9.9k, had a shower and a bowl of porridge, went back to bed and Iโve just woken up! So I actually missed The London Marathon ๐ฌ
Iโve just read Eliud came 8th, so it only goes to show we canโt always have a great run can we ๐

Some of the puddles were huge, drivers were considerate though and I didnโt get splashed. Saw quite a few runners out there this morning, few nice friendly waves, which was nice.
I really should try some of these Coach Bennett runs - they sound great!
Yep, not poor Eliud's day today but still an absolute legend - some great finishes in both the men's and womens races too.๐
Well done for getting out there today - I've had a few days off before today too with a cold and it was good to get back on the trails this morning!๐๐
Well done Couchphoenix. 9.9k is amazing! I did a puddle-dodging run this morning with Coach Bennett for the first time - what a revelation! Don't why I haven't done that before. There are so many runs to choose from - I did the Rainy Run - 45 mins to go with W3R3 Magic Plan. Will try the Eliud one when I'm ready for a 60 min run, but I'm not quite there yet!
Nice one 58soon, it was pretty bad out there this morning, glad to hear you enjoyed Coach Bennett, I find listening to him does help make the run more enjoyable, lots of choice too, you can use the distance ones with the Magic Plan ๐
