Trastuzumab duration

My 64 year old mother is suffering from her2 positive er pr negative breast cancer of right breast with liver metastases. Currently she is on 12 th dose of trastuzumab after completion of 6 cycles of paclitaxel + trastuzumab. I want to know how long should she receive trastuzumab ? And whether she has to receive trastuzumab again in future after stopping once.? Her 2 D echo report is normal. Pls answer

I understand from your post that she is metastatic, I have asked the same question with my oncologist. And, she said she would not stop or change the medicine until there is progression.

The licensing Indication is TILL Progression. The cancer is Stage IV (with Liver Mets), the cancer will recur once Trastuzumab is stopped.

Hi, my mother had a similar diagnosis with ER, PR negative and HER-2 triple positive.. she underwent 6 cycles of TCH protocol followed by further 11 cycles of Trastazunmab.. so she needed 17 cycles of Herceptin in total. Further dosages than that would depend on the progress of the treatment. We do regular follow ups every 4-6 months or so. Good luck to you. Do let me know for further queries.

Ok thank you sir..every 4-6 month follow up which test or procedure conducted ? I mean pet scan etc.
