If it is due to cancer it would technically be classified as Stage IV (Metastatic)

If it's an isolated rib lesion, many oncologist would give benefit of doubt, and still go ahead with all curable option...hoping this lesion will not grow....many times oncologists don't have the answer...and if it does not spread further...it's good....

But many times...there are further lesions and spread which we see within a year or two, as soon as all treatments are finished.

It's a tough decision at times...and patients have to be told about possibility of this being evidence of spread ..which may or may not be controlled....

Thanks for sharing your thoughts sir. We had found those lesions on PET scan which we took in last februrary, After that our oncologist suggested for Concurrent chemoradation which includes 28 days of 3DRT radiation along with 4 doses of mild (each 1mg) CMF. after finishing that now he suggested to take another six cycles of chemo (Taxol(220 mg) + Carboplatin(550mg)).The treatment path now we are following is correct?will it help to weaken the lesion.please share thoughts on the same sir.

prasath_das, it is not feasible for us and is beyond the scope of this forum to give medical opinions, since it needs a detailed assessment of the patient and understanding of the disease. If you feel and wish to know whether the said treatment is in the right line or not, you can see another Oncologist in your city and take an opinion.

I can clearly see a communication gap between you and your present doctor. It is essential you ask your doctor, what stage it is now, how much treatment needed, what tests will be done to assess the response and what are the possible outcomes. Please do request your doctor around 15 minutes of discussion and I am sure all your doubts will disappear.
