Radiation therapy side effects.

My mom is undergoing 3DCRT.Now only two fragments left for her.All the area where radiation is given turned into black like it was burnt.She is telling that she is feeling too much heat inside.She getting itching at the place of radiaton.Please tell any suggestions,any one faced similar kind of effects??

Sometimes due to sensitive skin these problems arise.

I too got got the skin peel off and inflammation, sometimes fever also but talk to your radiation oncologist he will suggest you medicines for this.

Hello chandraa,i too had this problem and used only pure coconut oil for application on that area.,don't worry consult your doc for some ointment.

Hi chandraa, radiation is the toughest thing for my wife..she was feeling too much burning, irritation. My wife was using bactigras strip. ..it helped her lot. I do understand its really painful. ..but nothing to worry. .all will be fine.

Thanks manish.As per my observation she is facing more trouble while undergoing radiation than chemo therapy.

chandraa, I am sure the above replies will tell you, that most of them have this problem.

Just ask your Radiation Oncologist, whether they would suggest any soothing creams for local application. All forms of creams are usually avoided, but sometimes, they do give steroid based creams to reduce the side effects.

Radiation therapy has many side effects. Through my search I found that doctors have invented one therapy called Immunotherapy in which patients immune system is improved to fight against cancer and it also do not cause any side effects. This therapy is practiced by a Cancer hospital in Mumbai called Cancer Healer Center and getting good results but doctors say that different patients may get different results.
