Many people get joint pain from lack of oestrogen.....if you are on letrozole( Femara) it reduces oestrogen cos some Breastcancers are reliant upon it. So in a way, having joint pain is a good thing cos it hopefully means the tablets are working. I’ve been on Femara for about 4 yrs and my hands (mainly) are useless in the morning so my husband makes breakfast. Bonus! Ask your doctor why your joints are sore. Good luck to you.

Yup I have rib pain 2 years since finished RT the consultant who operated said "RT is the gift that keeps on giving" some people get nothing like my best friend she just sailed through it all and I got every side effect going and then some I have muscle pain a little but then I take other meds which could cause that ....some days the rib pain is unbearable but others not so much have been told by BCN that I could have it for the rest of my life !!

am riddled with osteo arthritis so my joints hurt anyway - lol

Why are we fobbed off after treatment is over?Feel like im lying when i moan about pain and side effects of treatment.Oncologist just said choose...bad flushes with tamoxifen or joint pain with exemestine.Cant deal with worse flushes so reluctantly said i will stay on exemestine .

Dear Celia, yes it’s a huge challenge to put up with the joint and bone pain . Better when exercising but horrible when lying down in bed . I hear the actual make if the tablets is important and I’m going to track down Femara brand. Good luck ! Keep in touch .

I have been on anastrazole for last five months, after a couple of weeks got awful pain especially in my feet and worse at night. Tried Amitriptyline and Naproxen but no change so stopped them. However, over last month it has definitely eased off loads and is easily controlled 90% of time with Paracetamol and ibuprofen. Good luck xx

Hi yes I have joint and bone pains, I also spoke to my Oncologist about it and he just shrugged and said it might be Arthritis but have no blood results for this . So I take Folic Acid and pure Aloe Vera juice drink that I order online off E-bay . It helps with reducing the bone/joint pains . Xx
