I personally changed my diet after I was diagnosed, just eat healthy plenty of fruit and veg, cut out the processed foods, cut down on sugar. I read a book by Jane plant I am now veggie but I eat fish, I don’t eat diary. I feel great and don’t suffer any side effects on the letrozole that I am on for ER + breast cancer.

But there is only some evidence about foods, so just eat healthy and keep fit.

Hi. I was advised to aim for a ‘healthy’ diet but especially things like broccoli and (don’t know why) beetroot, I was told to avoid soya because of the oestrogen. The answer Debs has given you sounds like helpful advice. All the best.

Yep I agree with Debs and Rayswife. I too changed to a more healthy diet, particularly increased my fruit and veg, reduced my carbohydrates (potato and bread), cut out processed foods (especially meats) and cut out alcohol. Many cancer centres have a dietician who can provide evidenced based advice. Good luck with your treatment, Caroline xx
