Post op bras

Hello ladies can you tell me if post op bras are different for prostetics and silicone I'm having trouble getting bras , just read discription for bras and stated slots for prostetics my silicone is too big for these slots

Maybe you need a bra with a bigger cup .. I did .. Is there not a shop that sells bras where you can have a private consultation .. X good luck .

Hi, not sure if this helps, may be worth looking at a website called 'NicoleJane' they supply post surgery bras, prosthesis etc, or if there's a MacMillan Centre close to you, they may do a bra fitting service, perhaps ring your breast care nurse to see if there's anything in your area, I wish you well x

Thank you I have had a fitting with Macmillan there bras are twenty seven pounds upwards I need more than one just tried m&s pockets don't seem to be big enough if I can't find any ill have to use there catalogue

My BCN fitted me with the right size prosthesis and bra. I originally had a size 12 prosthesis which was huge, and I needed a 46DD bra, and it fitted perfectly. Then I lost weight, and went back for a free resize. Came away with a size 9 prosthesis, which seemed half the size, and then only needed a 38C bra. All bras that I bought after the fittings were just right. I can only think that you need to increase the cup size.

Have you tried debenhams... They brought out a new range about 18 mths ago designed with the help of a cancer survivor

My bras are from asda online they are £8 each and very good may be worth a try 😀

I use. Nicola jane if you are in sovereign health care you can claim some money back.

I by most of my bras from Amoena when they have a sale! They do a good range of bust and cup sizes for most of their styles. I have also bought a couple from M&S. Will try Asda on line as well!!

Hi, I have a g cup and get my bras from Debenhams on line, a bit of a knack to getting 'Betty' as I call my prosthesis, in place but once there it looks good. Sounds silly being 36g but I get the slightly padded bra which gives a nice bit if shape and plenty of support. M and S are really good too, most of the fitters are McMillan trained and certainly in my local they will alter your bra to fit and if you have a favourite pre operation one then they will convert to mastectomy bra. Hi Jenny, I got mine from one of the bigger M&S stores. Made an appointment and they couldn't have been more helpful xx

Done it today there was a wait so I tried to fit myself then remembered I couldn't do the fastening due to restricted arm movement so I got tearfull silly me the lady saw what was happening and re assured me everything would be fine I was put to the front of the que and fitted properly and yes they couldn't have been any nicer even offered tissues and a free tea

Yes I was similar. I'd made the appointment but when I got there was quite tearful and the assistant said "you look like you could do with a nice cup of tea" which broke the ice. She put me in a cubicle and came back with a cup of tea each and biscuits so we sat and had a little tea party whilst she helped me try various types of bras on. So thoughtful.

I feel for you ladies I was fortunate in respect I still have both of mine albeit they are not quite the same shape as each other ... lol if you cant face going to get " special bra" and you have one that fits and you like you - if you are handy with a needle and thread you can made a pocket of a smooth feeling fabric and stitch it to the inside of the cup leaving a gap to take your prosthesis (or whatever name you give her)
