Hi all day 14 post 1st fec going to get a wig today 😕

No hair loss so far just feeling anxious everyday anyone had any results with coolcap

Hi I had tried the cold cap and it did work for a while until one day the nurse forgot to set the thing up properly.

Hi Sebsmum, first fec down..yay!

I coldcapped and kept loads of hair, i did lose some on my crown and on one side slightly but it grew back vert fast after and filled in. I did look after it and treated it with care, i used non perfume shampoo and conditioner (i used my own also when i cold capped) i washed it once every 7-10 days and bought a couple of silk pillow cases too which helped not pull out what was left!

Its a good sign none has fallen i think i had a big shed just after my second fec,

Hi there Sebsmum, I didn't wear my wig much, mainly hats and I didn't use the cold cap though friends did. I've recently become aware of an additional choice re supporting hair loss during chemo which I wish I'd been aware of at the time. Lucinda Ellery has 5 uk and 2 usa specialist hair loss salons.

Their interlace system can fill in any thinning bits with hair extensions and they have experience of working with ladies who use the cold cap as well as not. Ladies can make it all the way through chemo so no-one knows, and after when the hair comes back patchy or thinner the interlace extensions system helps give a thicker head of hair. Its a choice well worth people being aware of.

Hi I used the cold cap and kept about 60% of my hair. I did lose quite a bit after the second cycle. I used Simple shampoo and didn’t use much products, tiny bit hairspray. I was told to try and not use a hairdryer and only use it on cold setting, but i always used it on a warm setting as it was the middle of winter!
