Mammogram meltdown

I had my annual mammogram this week. I have had mammograms before with no problems but this time it really hurt, to the point where I felt sick and dizzy. The staff had to sit me on a cushion on the floor and gave me a drink of water. I wasn't anxious about it beforehand and the only reason I can think of for this reaction was they took quite a few scans and after a while it became really painful. Just wondered if anyone else experienced this.

You have my sympathies! My mammogram was a nightmare and my first one . My full boobs were pulled/stretched /manipulated and my underarm pinched. I'm not usually anxious either but I did feel really wobbly afterwards. Having said that I was diagnosed with BC so I guess it saved my life. Its probably like having a smear sometimes it's fine and other times it is really painful.

It maybe you were a little dehydrated beforehand or your blood pressure was compromised and after standing for quite a time made you feel so unwell. Hopefully you recovered fairly quickly. There's no reason to believe that any future ones will be the same but I did build up an anxiety about having more of them which weren't nearly as uncomfortable. Take care x

It's possible I was a bit dehydrated as it was a morning appointment and I had only had a couple of drinks. Never thought of that. I will have to drink more next time. Thanks for your reply and take care x
