I have heard of other people getting more frequent urine infections on tamoxifen and anastrozole. They are hormones as you know and also sometimes cause vaginal dryness so bugs have easier access perhaps? Sounds like a trip to GP to see if you have an infection and need antibiotics

Hi

I've just had a WLE and SNR but not yet started treatment but funnily enough went to the Drs this morning as I have been having symtoms which make me feel as if i am am going to start with cystitis but it does not actually develop into cystitis, this has been happening over the last 2 years. I am menopausal and after exam she told me i had mild vaginal atrophy ( google it) which is due to lack of oestrogen in the vagina. This is common in menopausal women. Dr said they normally prescribe an eostrogen cream but as my BC is ER positive said she would write to my oncologist. She did however prescribe a lubricant called YES and Epaderm. She said a lack of oestrogen can cause infections. The Dr also told me having chemo can cause this.

May be worth a visit to your GP . Hope this helps.x

I suffer from mild incontinence since being on tamoxifen. I read that both cancer and the treatment can cause the urethra to dry out resulting in problems. Thank goodness for tena lady. Seriously though, it's embarrassing.
