suggests it relieves pain such as that from radiation so it seems odd that it stings. Similarly the blurb suggests Polymem is good for sore skin. I hope you get answers on Tues. Good luck Caroline xx
Sorry I should have been more specific instead of just assuming y'all should know I was talking about radiotherapy after effects !!! lol
I finished RT on 8th June and I went to breast care nurses this morning -(instead of pracctice nurse) as they are dealing with all aspects all the time and they said it can happen - I had the same stinging with Aloa vera gel and E45 unperfumed (red top) - I have Dermol 500 lotion (prescription only) which can be used as a balm and a lotion to wash with which breast care nurse said was fine to use - but that stings a bit too - I have always had a bit sensitive skin - so i just have to suck it up, pull up my big girl panties and get on with it - this is the its going to get worse before it gets better part... Dr. is doing script for the Polymem - the break in the skin isn't very big but by crikey it hurts !! so not going to practice nurse now I got he answers i needed.
Am relaxing on bed with small portable fan trying to cool me down - and not anything very difficult cooking wise later on...
I too had bad skin break out with Radiotherapy got an infection during it
I got cooling gel from the hospital however I found if you put soak salin in gauls and put on your skin and leave it like that for as long as you can you will be relief i found the pain Alo Vera nearly killed me
Thank you -- it is settling down now and I dont think the break is getting any bigger not quite as painful but I know its there most of the time and the redness is increasing almost daily !!llol
Oh that don't sound good 😔 I have 2 chemo sessions to go then RT after that. I thought that would be the "easy" part, but that sounds painful. Hope you are feeling better now xxxxxxx
Hey Gitte I was so so relieved to 'sail through' my 15 rad treatments 😌. Finished a week and a half ago with no side effects except a bit of tiredness in week 2. I expected the worst as I'd had a bit of trouble with chemo. Very glad to hear you are almost done with that well done 👍🏻.
Oh well done! That is fantastic 🙌🙌. Not long now 😀. Remember to rest when you need to. Docetaxol made me so so lethargic but at least my hair began to grow again during chemo no 5!! 👍🏻
Also, I used aloe Vera gel and slathered it on 4 times a day during radiotherapy. Bought 2 from my local chemist and 2 from website biggreensmile.com.
It's been a few days since I wrote and it is feeling better skin has just sort of peeled away but definitely not as painful -but my nipple is glowing like a red beacon and boy is that sore however the skin has not broken (thankful for small merceries) slapping hydrogen on and using the polymer dressings
Went out today with friend she drives and I provide the food - a 3 course lunch - to the quilt show at Sandown racecourse and gave myself a few nice treats which was lovely -feel absolutely shattered now but so worth it just to be out and about - we took a workshop learning how to make a small ring cushion with various knots, beading and quilting about a 9 inch square - obviously you cannot finish it in an hour but you got shown how to do everything u need know to finish it off at home.
