Hi lovely ladies I've been stricken with this awful throat bug and ear infections for the last 3 wks and can not shake it off. My GP says it's because my immunity is down still as I'm still recovering from the cancer but I had radio not chemo so don't really understand that one. I didn't think radio had that effect on the immune system unless it's just a case of my body's still knackered from the treatment and I'm not as recovered as I thought I was. Think I've probably just answered that one myself but any thoughts ladies please . I've not felt this rough since I was having the radio 😩 Xx

Yes I spoke to my Macmillan nurse yesterday and she said that's it exactly, our bodies have taken such an insult that it doesn't take much to knock us down and resting will certainly help. X

Thank you Annemarie for your good wishes. Please will you make an appointment to see your breast care nurse because you shouldn't still be suffering with a sore and angry boob at this point. Good luck hunny x

I did have chemo and radiotherapy. But a year after the chemo finished I was really unwell with a virus and bronchitis. I think it was all do to with the whole package of treatment and the stress of having the diagnosis. It was winter too. But it's like winter now! So some sunshine would probably help you a lot!

Hope you feel better soon x

Yay! Some sunshine would be nice wouldn't it. Perhaps I stopped listening to my body when it was telling me to slow down and rest to get over this minor bug hence it floored me completely but now after 3 wks just starting to feel a little better thank you x

Hope you are feeling better now . Strangely enough I had cold virus now for over ten days brings back fatigue memories from radiotherapy.so maybe flu I am sure before cancer I would have shaken this off in a few days .so reading your replies has put my mind at rest . Need to listen to body and rest but when you have cancer rest seems a waste of time but best to listen to body . You take care and stay well. I suppose our bodies have been through a lot and they need to reboot.

Hi Louise you have have hit the nail on the head when you say we need to reboot, I hadn't thought of it like that. Also you have put into words how I have felt - resting seems a waste of time when you have cancer. I don't think any of our well meaning family and friends will ever understand that. Good health to you.
