Hi there, I had a double mastectomy 7 weeks ago tomorrow. I opted not to go for reconstruction and have chosen to live a 'flat' life. My chest is very tight and the left still needs draining via needle aspiration. I had left side lymph nodes removed too. I get nerve pain in that arm, it is more like a feeling that my arm has an open cut running down it. What I find the worst is the after effects of the chemo with very little feeling in my toes and tips of my fingers, also discomfort in the nail beds of my fingers. And - I may need further chemo, I find that out tomorrow. It is the small things and after effects that you don't really consider that I find to be worse than the surgery to remove the cancer itself... Then I still have radiotherapy to go.....ah well, at least I'm here and still smiling ☺

Hi Lainey keep strong with the chemo I did six rounds and when round 5 came I could of told them not playing any more but did it with encouraging family members . When I had radiotherapy I had a bit of a laugh because there were many men with prostate cancer and we all had a bit of a laugh which was good xx
