Visiting a loved one in a coma

Following my dad’s fall at the beginning of March, he has been in ICU for two and a half weeks and is now being moved to a ward where we can visit.

What are your experiences of visiting someone in a coma? What kind of things do you do/say? What can I do/say that might be beneficial to him?

When my son was in a coma l tried to be calm. I kissed his forehead when l entered and when l left. I held his hand and spoke softly. I told him daily that he was looking stronger ( l lied... no one could look stronger with all those machines & tubes attached). But l believe speaking positively helped him and it certainly helped me. Granni B
