Pregnant or menopause?

Hi, I am 42, last period was over 7 weeks ago, got 2 faint positives last week but this morning a negative. No bleeding yet & have been feeling a little queasy, but am I most likely not pregnant but starting menopause?

Hi There,

You are still a bit young for the menopause. For women under 50 you are considered to have gone through menopause after 24 months (2yrs) without a period. It does sound more likely to be a possible pregnancy. It would be best to repeat the pregnancy test with an early morning wee, or book to see your GP and do the test with them, as you can then chat through your symptoms and work out what's happening for you.

Thank you, I do have a midwife appointment next week as I did have my smear booked so I told the receptionist about the faint positives, they spoke to the midwife & she booked me in, but then the test yesterday made me doubt! I still have another test here so will do that at the weekend if no change & go to the midwife appointment.
