I have a small lump on the bone of my shoulder. I am worried. I have had one on my collarbone for a few years. That was checked and is harmless. This one is smaller and I'm so worried . There is breast cancer in my family. Anyone had this and was ok?

If you are worried about it get it checked out.

Getting it checked doesn't change its status...it is what it is...better to know..and it could be like last time, i.e. nothing to worry about, Good luck.

benmaise,

you are wise to be concerned even though odds are that it is benign.

i’m an orthopedic surgeon so here are some tips about whether it’s aggressive or benign

Does it hurt

Did you injure it

How many cm is it

How long has it been there

Is it growing or staying about the same size

Do you have any other types of known cancer

Have you had a breast exam or mammogram

Ultimately, to ease your mind getting it evaluated and imaged, typically an Xray then an MRI or bone scan would be in order, along with some lab tests

Good luck and God bless
