are bisphosphonates not suitable for certain osteoporosis patients?

or was my Mum's specialist a lazy useless ignorant git? i am trying to see what has happened.

the doctors are spouting that Mum delayed treatment for many years - i say good on her;

they say that she is in poor condition because she delayed treatment for (x) years;

i say if she had started (x) years earlier, she would have these problems (x) years later.

i can see people need a treatment, i just don't think Mum was in that category,

and i wonder why she wasnt started on bisphosphonates.

also wonder why she wasnt given a rest from pr*lia with bisphosphonate at the 5 year mark.

other questions that i might never know for sure,

but how dare they blame the patient.

i recently found more evidence of doctor/ clinic error, so all the more how dare they blame my Mum

How dare they blame the patient? Because the first impulse is to always blame the patient. I have very rarely (if at all) experienced a doctor taking responsibility for any medical mishap. They believe themselves to have the superior education (which compared to a layperson they do overall) and therefore anything that goes wrong absolutely must be the patient's fault since they (the patients) are totally clueless (and completely unable to learn), irresponsible and non-compliant (did I miss anything?). End of story.

Please do not be sidetracked by this. I find it to be best to focus away from doctor's behaviour (as difficult as it may be) and focus on what steps need to be taken next to improve the situation. That's where the patient's power lies. Collecting as much information from as many reliable sources as possible should help to go in the right direction (most of the time). Best wishes.

It sounds like you should probably avoid going to any doctor ever again. Best for all.

Now wouldn't that be a dream! Oh to be so healthy to never have to see a doctor ever again! I hope that would be your wish for me, as it is my wish for you. Take good care of yourself, emersee.

Wow, you certainly don't hold back. "lazy, useless, ignorant git" - what rude words.

may you never know what it's like to have a medical professional prescribe negligently contrary to guidelines and have 3 other g.p's blindly follow directions to administer this

lazy - didn't read how to prescribe this drug

useless - had not helped my Mum

ignorant - didn't know the guidelines, didn't know that stopping prolia and starting teriparatide is unspeakably catastrophic

git - i meant incompetent negligent git
