Dear Radar, find what works for you to manage the pain. I used heat and water, exercises that strength musculoskeletal, food that provides bone restoration. Tried Prolia and after years of biological side effects, could not tolerate any longer. T-6 to T-12 compression fractures then in 2016 T-12 MRI showed age degeneration. It all hurts but is manageable. Find your own plan and keep trying. You are worth it!

thanks, I had a reclast infusion last April what does t12 end -plate deformity mean, I get a bit breathless when I go for my daily walk but keep going, from what I have been reading it looks like compressed disc's that reduce lung capacity I have been referred to a lung specialist.

Oh yes, I have a Pulmonologist, a Gastroenterologist, Primary Care… I’m in USA and 72 yrs old, have tried it all since Osteoporosis diagnosis in 2000. Find your own way!

verywellhealth.com/vertebra.... Hopefully this article will answer your question. At our age (70+), it’s not an unusual symptom. Bodies age!

thanks ,didn't know that, have to find out the best exercises because it doesn't mention severe osteoporosis.

There are some excellent GENTLE exercises specifically for the older osteoporosis patient on YouTube, but two of the very best forms of exercises to do are walking and swimming (or just walking through water/gentle arm and leg exercises). We definitely don’t need to be doing anything macho or too energetic; little and often. Just try going up and down (slowly, with control) on your toes..both together then one at a time…when you brush your teeth!

I go for a walk every morning for 30mns,and do some light weights if possible. my dxa score says superior end-plate deformity.its more awkward with severe osteoporosis is superior end-plate deformity same as degenerative disk disease, I used to do squats and I have read squats are not good, I can do pressups they are ok I hope.all the exercises on YouTube are for osteoporosis and not severe osteoporosis.

The Very Well Health article explains the difference well. Your daily walks and light exercises are great ….and really, that’s sufficient ….you don’t need to overdo exercise when you have a spinal condition, osteoporosis and are over 70. Keeping mobile is the most important thing plus addressing your diet. First rate information on R.O.S website. Radars, I get your concern, but please don’t overthink things…just do what you’re doing, go out and about with friends, laugh a bit and enjoy life……x
