I had my flu jab a couple of days ago. I had it about 12.30pm. By about 6.00pm I was starting to feel very tired. I slept in the chair all evening then slept all night in bed. I got up in the morning a little bit better but after a couple of hours was really shivering. I got myself a sandwich as I didn’t want to take paracetamol on an empty stomach. I took the paracetamol after then I was really soaked with sweat in the afternoon. By about 4.00pm I was starting to feel much better. I got up this morning and am fine. I was wondering if anyone else had this with the flu jab?

flu Jab
My husband, a friend and a friend’s sister all felt like that after their flu jabs. My husband and my friend’s sister were like you and recovered very quickly and my friend felt rough for a couple of days.
I had no pain and no reaction to either the flu one or to the covid one two weeks later. I’m wondering now if that’s a good thing or a bad thing?
It's your immune system responding to the jab and is supposed to be a good sign! However, they say the jab works, regardless of such an immune response, so it does seem unfortunate for those who do react.
I didn’t react this year but last year I felt quite poorly for 3 days.
I think it depends on the vaccine. I was fine every time with Pfizer but Moderna affected me similarly to you. I refused Moderna this time and got Pfizer a week later at the pharmacy.
I’m booked in for the 4th November but after having a not nice reaction to the flu one am a bit anxious.
Don't feel anxious - it doesn't have to hurt much and is much less severe than a dose of flu would be.
I meant I’m anxious about being poorly with it. I’ve already been poorly with Aspergillosis then with the flu jab. To be honest I don’t want to feel poorly again. The actually injection doesn’t worry me.
Ok, but even he reaction doesn't have to be as bad as having the flu/covid. It's just a pity that they haven't pinpointed what it is in these vaccines that has such an effect on some people.
I think having seven weeks of Aspergillosis. Just getting over that then feeling ill from the flu jab. I just feel I’ve had enough. I’m sure I’ll be ok I just think there comes a point when you’ve had enough.
Well, there's a lot to be said for listening to the wisdom of your body.
Hi. I stopped having flu jabs years ago and also had no covids jabs. I had 3 strains of covid, had no medical intervention or treatment. At 68 years old with asthma and other dificulties....I'm no miracle...my immune system must have done its job. Flu jabs are optional not compulsory. I certainly do not miss the nasty reaction and feeling ill I used to have from the jabs. When I was really ill with flu when I did have flu jabs...a chat with my GP helped me to decide that for me it wasn't worth it. I think I may have caught a strain which was not in the flu jab. I didnt realise this could happen. We each need to weigh up what we think best for us as individuals. xx
To be honest I would sooner air on the side of caution. I will definitely have them both. It’s like Russian Roulette if you don’t. Yes the flu jab made me feel ill. I’ve been having the flu vaccine for years and have never reacted to it until now. It was only about 20 hours that I felt ill. To be honest I don’t want to feel poorly at all. I’ve got enough to put up with with 7 spinal fractures.
could the reaction this time because the Covid booster was around the same time as the flu jab?
