Here at the Royal Osteoporosis Society, we are currently writing an article for our members’ magazine, Osteoporosis News, about thyroid disease as a risk factor condition for osteoporosis. We would like to include a short Q&A section with a member of the community who has had the medical condition thyrotoxicosis, which is when you have high levels of thyroid hormone, also known as hyperthyroidism (not parathyroid disease) and who went on to develop osteoporosis. We are particularly interested in hearing from someone whose high levels of thyroid weren’t picked up quickly or managed well, who went on to develop osteoporosis and experienced a fracture.

We will send through five questions and are looking for short responses (150-200 words) for each.

Please email Imogen.Smith@theros.org.uk by Tuesday 24 August if you have experienced this and are happy to share your story.
