Haven’t tried nortriptyline but I was prescribed pregabalin and later gabapentin for nerve pain from CRPS after my plaster cast was removed when I broke my wrist.

I didn’t get on with either and my eyes were horribly affected - I had very blurred vision while I was taking both drugs (although it wasn’t for long) it made reading and watching TV so difficult I pretty much gave up and one of the drugs seemed to affect my colour vision - the world looked grey - although it went back to normal once I stopped because I didn’t like the feelings I had with the drug.

I was prescribed amitryptiline many years ago and don’t remember having any problems with my vision then - again I didn’t take it for long - basically my GP prescribed it when I was actually needing an increase in levothyroxine when I was being treated for Graves Disease. By the time I saw the consultant I had phased it out and when I mentioned it she just rolled her eyes, said ‘that would never work’ and increased my levothyroxine.

I didn’t have any unpleasant side effects then though.
