I haven’t. I prefer to take individual supplements, it’s easier to control the amounts taken, and I think works out cheaper.

If you are considering taking the strontium boost part be aware that your dexa scans will not be accurate. This is because the machines are not calibrated to account for strontium which attaches to the bone, is heavier than calcium and, therefore, scans show improvements that are not probably new bone just the heavier strontium.

If you type AlgaeCal into the search box at the top of the page you will see previous questions and replies.

I am taking Algae Cal and Strontium since December 2019. Strontium is key for calcium absorbtion, but you take it 2 hours away from the Algae Cal, which akso contains ither very key supplements for bone building. The testimonies great on these products. Check the company out for yourself. All the best to you.

HeronNS posted an article here 2 years ago called My "Osteoporosis Journey." It's very interesting as she clearly outlines how she improved her scores without drugs. On the thread I queried using seaweed supplements as a natural food source to boost calcium and mineral levels. These can be bought online now very cheaply on Amazon and comparing the ingredients to Algaecal's Supplement (the one minus the strontium) they are very similar bar the price! Plus they have trace strontium. I got some interesting remarks on Heron's post but as there's over 100 replies you have to scroll well down. I'm still very wary of using strontium, probably because it may be implicated in heart problems as the mass produced drug strontium ranelate (correct name??) was withdrawn from the market for that reason. However I think if I was in a tight corner and at risk or had a spinal fracture as I got older I'd take it in preference to drug treatment.... Personal choice as in this minefield of discerning the right thing to do for your body that's what it boils down to. I'm still dithering with taking a seaweed supplement occasionally but in the meantime I'm using dried seaweed as a condiment and a little in cooking. I always try to be cautious and thread a careful line. 11 years into this journey following my instinct (minus drugs) and so far, fingers crossed, no fractures. And the support we receive here is great.
