I have been diagnosed with bone spurs! I have one on each heel and they are really painful and restrict my walking. Trying physio to begin with but might need operations on each heel? Has anyone on here ever had this op? If so is it successful? Scared!!!

Hi Belladog,

I may be wrong but I thought the main cause of bone spurs is the joint damage associated with osteoarthritis. Perhaps you would be better off joining the arthritis action group?

Oh poor you having this in both heels. I had it in one heel and saw a physio to no avail, but the consultant said not to allow it to restrict me too much.. difficult! He said it would go around two years whatever I did, and it did. Good luck

I too have now developed problems with my feet, namely plantar faciitis, which is preventing me from walking as much as I like. Has anyone else had this and got better?

Hi Jeanne I am the lady who initially wrote about having to bone growth's one on each heel. I was so much in pain I ended up going to get anti inflammatory tablets from my doctor. I am not one for taking tablets but in this case it was necessary. It has actually took a lot of the swelling down from around the heel, which is great!! Plus can't feel the pain!! What has helped is a magnetic sock I've been wearing, one on each foot. Plus I use gel heel up lifts which you can buy or get from your physio. Good luck dear.
