MDAnderson: Thinking about a second... - Blue Faery Liver ...
MDAnderson
Hi! My experience with MD Anderson and Sloan was a long time ago (2003) when my husband was diagnosed with HCC and both places were impressive. We learned about clinical trial options they had if we wanted to go that route (I did but my husband didn't want to initially). By the time my husband was diagnosed, he was beyond any surgical option which was, of course, what we were hoping for. We ended up at UPMC and did chemoembolization there several times.
I am not a doctor but always think it is a good idea to get a second opinion. I don't know where you live, but it seems to me that it makes sense to get in front of people who see this all the time and focus on it. You may be able to do that close to where you live but if not...it is worth a trip.
I'm sorry you are having to think about and deal with this. Please keep us posted.
I will.thanks for your input
If you email me I can assist you with getting a second opinion at Sloan. andrea@bluefaery.org
