I am a 45 year old woman. I discovered I had high BP when I had to go to hospital for heavy bleeding. It read 230/180 which was a surprise to me, actually I was very afraid. Doctor prescribed losartan 50mg at first then 100mg. Ally bloods came back normal. It has come down to a better reading of 140/100.
I have changed to diet to DASH. I walk 30 aday and changed some stressful situation in my life. I also drink hibiscus tea 2 cups a day. My reading now is 110/85. I am on this journey along side my blood pressure to stop it elevating. My goal is to reduced losarton to 50mg.I do need to lose weight. I believe I am premeniposal and have hormonal imbalance. Inflammation in the body can cause high BP. What I eat affects my blood pressure massively.

well done u , what a positive post and u are winning the battle already with those readings. Good luck with everything and enjoy your losses. 🍀🍀👏
My BP was in those levels also. I later had heart failure at 46yo. Since then I started 16MG Candesartan but didn't take the other 6x meds they wanted me on. The BP med helps a lot . But why was my BP so HIGH (180/111) at the time? It seems that my 5 years of smoking and drinking didn't help, also I ate a lot of foods that contained Vegetable Oils (Rapeseed, Sunflower etc) that was causing inflammation in my body. Vegetable Oils do lower your cholesterol but in return they burn our bodies slowly with inflammation. Anyway, Im getting my life back now with a clean diet, a stress free life and walking. My goal is to wean myself of the BP med. BP is now in 120's/80's
I do agree. Hibiscus tea is good and I eat lots of beetroot. I find what I eat makes a difference and I walk 10.000 steps daily at 72. My bp is mostly less after a walk. I also do a Dash diet.Well Done.I am on 50mg.Losartan. If I have to up it to 75mg.it makes me feel so illl. Sachet all over headaches stomach ache burning anxiety etc.All the usual. I find 50mg.is manageable.
