indeed!

Beetroot (if you can get raw beetroot and cook it yourself rather than the horrid stuff that’s been covered in vinegar)

Figs

Prunes, but I find that several are needed.

Hi! I started suffering with constipation very early, in my 30-ties ( genetic family problem, I guess). I found the solution in consuming boiled wheat grains. I used to consume it (about 150 gr at a time), as a meal between the main meals, once a day. Have been doing it for about 40 years now, without any bad effect. It is natural, has energetic value, and adittionally provides you with vitamine E and the complex of vitamine B also. The only problem I have noticed is - I look far younger than my generation, lol. If interested in details, you may contact me via PM.

where do you get boiled wheat grains

In my country, wheat grains can be bought in the shop which sell "sound food". I would not know for UK, but there also must be shops selling such food (organic food or similar).

Oats in the form of whole rolled oats, not instant porridge types. You don't have to cook them, just pour boiling water over them, wait twenty minutes, them add whatever you want - fruit, nuts, seeds, honey, milk, whatever Also add a tablespoon of ground linseeds if you like, they help to lower blood pressure and are also good for preventing constipation. If I don't eat oats daily, I also get constipated.... They are a magic bullet as far as I'm concerned, none of the other stuff, like fibrogel, psyllium husk, lots of fruit and veg that people mention made any difference at all. Also make sure you drink enough every day; they say water, but my fluid intake tends to be several cups of tea!

We're all different with different gut bacteria; apparently you 'don't feel hungry for four hours after porridge or oats' but that's certainly not my experience, its about two hours max. Let's hope oats work for the person who asked the question...

Magnesium. I take Mag threonate, taurate, bisglycinate every evening. Very calming and most people are short of mg.
