230/18 . I didnt know I had it, I was in hospital with very heavy bleeding and they picked it up.
I was put in losarton 50mg and then 4 weeks later after another 24hour blood pressure monitor, upto 100mg. My blood pressure has come down a lot. My reading are 130/90.
I know I am over weight, currently 80kg. I am so on anxiety meds Mirtazapine 15mg which help me sleep . They have contributed to my weight gain. I dont want to stop them as they help me sleep and keep me calm and relaxed.
After taking losarton the pain on my left side shoulder and head has decreased and the numbness in my arm also has got better.
All my tests and scans have come back as normal I dont understand why I have high blood presure. I am 44 years old and generally fit.
since taking losarton I have a constant bloat and look 6 mnts pregnant.
I want to stop my emedication but feel scared in case I have a stroke.
thank you for reading

Hello Tiffan. When you get diagnosed with high blood pressure it’s areal, shock, isn’t it! But you are now fortunate in that you are more under control.
The thing with high blood pressure is that it’s really up to you (with the help of the medical profession) to get it under control. It’s in your hands. So , what to do?
Start off with reading the website of Blood PressureUK to get a handle on what it’s all about. They’ve got lots of tips on how you can help yourself and when you follow these you’ll find (as lots of posters on this site have done over the years) that you will feel so much better. Knowing that YOU can do something about it is part of the way to getting it under control.
I am making changes. My children are still young, teenagers. I want to be around for them as long g as I can. I will go back toy doc and see if he can prescribe to something else.
I dont like being bloated and uncomfortable.
Thank you for the advice wishing you good health and happiness 😊
I have found that breathing in 4 seconds holding 7 and breathing out 8 has really helped my blood pressure. Also drinking water, walking and cutting back on cards and sugar really helped.
I'm taking lots of small steps, then falling but trying to get back up.
Thanks for your reply wishing you good health and happiness 😊
