Having had high end of normal BP for a while now, fluctuated from 150/90 to 135/90 then started with palpitations/sob/light headed and very high BP. Long story short, my GP gave Indapamide 1.25 felt awful headache /sob/depressed do only lasted a short while. Palps continued then put on BBs bisoprolol ,1.25 been on 7 weeks and the more debilitating side effects have gone ,but still tired and low mood and just recently stomach upset in the morning. I could just about live with the side effects but the morning cramps with rush to loo I'm not happy with. Have had ultrasound for heart then tmrw holter monitor was told by cardiologist to stop BBs but heard withdrawal awful. So feel between a rock and a hard place. I'm very sensitive to all meds even vitamin tablets so can't think of a way out. Tried nebivolol but increased anxiety and headache. Heard channel blockers also not good for side effects. Any advice from people greatly appreciated.
Bisoprolol, Indapamide, side effects. - High Blood Pressu...
Bisoprolol, Indapamide, side effects.
My only suggestion- as a non medical person - would be to contact Blood Pressure UK, the specialist P charity.
I think Ive had the just about every BP med to date but the side effects of the last 3 channel blockers have been probably the worst - Doxazosin, Lercanidipine, Indapamine and Lercidipine. So swollen legs and feet, breathlessness and palpitations have been and are still troublesome. However, my BP has improved a lot. I've yet to report to my GP that the latest change hasn't improved my side effects. It's very debilitating si I hope there's a solution.
How were you on the BBs? What side effects did you have? Mine on bisoprolol have died down from 7weeks ago but still got some and starting to think better devil you know! Heard CCB s are tricky. My main need is to get rid of anxiety and at the mo Biso does that and the price is low mood unsettled sleep and some tum upset . Nebivolol caused anxiety but better energy levels being semi retired can cope with lower energy.
