I had been on 50mg of losartan for years with no side effects but in order to better control my blood pressure my consultant prescribed 5 mg amlodopine as well (to take at night). The result in terms of side effect was grim - fatigue, anxiety, poor appetite, light-headed/dizzy, feeling awful.Seriously thought about reducing/coming off (life has to be better).

I was encouraged to carry on for longer and was beginning to lose hope, when the side effects fairly suddenly and unexpectedly began reducing a fair bit thank goodness.

10 weeks now and better, not 100% but probably 75% and comfortably tolerable.

Hopefully more progress to come.

Thanks Nick. I have been taking it for a while and have put on weight with it.

I have been on amplodipine for several years and now have weight gain. Despite healthy eating and calorie control I just can't lose the weight. Since I started taking it I have gained 2 stone
