Hi, I started 1.25mg of bisoprolol 2 weeks ago for High Blood pressure. Anyone experience feeling lightheaded. Doctor says it's not medication causing this and wondered if others found the symptoms eventually go?? Thank you all in advance.

1.25mg bisoprolol lightheaded
Is it listed on the info sheet as being a side-effect?
Can u check your blood pressure at home it will give u an idea of how well the medication is controlling your b/p. I have been on medication for years ( different to yours) and sometimes feel lightheaded for a short period. I have learned how to manage it. I know my b/p is mainly controlled and that is the goal.
There are lots of b/p meds out there so do a little investigating and contact your GP again and request a change of meds if u feel the current meds are not for you. Good luck
Thanks for your reply. My BP is averaging 117/78 so Dr happy with that, but doesn't think lightheadiness is caused by Disoprolol as only on such a low dose. How do you cope with these symptoms?
That’s a really good b/p. If I get up from sitting too quickly I get lightheaded so I take it slowly, if I look up or shake my head it can happen so I try to avoid that. Of course sinus and ears problems all contribute to lightheadedness but if u have theses issues already u will be aware of it.
It could easily resolve as a lot of things do but if it is really bothering u and affecting how u can live day-day see your doctor.
I have Bisoprolol for AF. It is a rate control drug as well as blood pressure medication. It made me very light headed on 1.25 at first because I have a slow heart rate. Resting it could go down to the 48 peŕ min and Bisoprolol brought it down to 43. Maybe it's not the blood pressure but the slightly lower heart rate and you have not got used to it yet. Maybe keep an eye on your pulse.
I have been on bisoprolol since April and I get lightheaded and very tired i am convinced its bisoprolol becuase of covid i havent been able to see cardiologist
