Not sure what you have been told you have mildly but stopping smoking is excellent advice for any lung condition in order to slow down the progress of further lung damage and breathing deterioration.

Which lung condition did the nurse say you had?

I don't know if things have changed recently but I didn't think a Nurse is qualified to diagnose. But respiratory nurses are a great help once you have been.

I would check in with your GP about what the nurse said and if you are having respiratory difficulty at the moment ask your GP to refer you to a specialising consultant.

I have COPD i blew into a tube and she took a reading, thanks so much for your answer.

Hi again criss

Did the nurse explain anything to you about it? If not do ring BLF helpline for some information leaflets. Try not to worry, you have been told early that is a good thing, and there is much you can do to keep yourself stable and still enjoy a good quality of life.

If yours is very mild you may not need any inhalers yet, on the other hand if you are experiencing shortness of breath which is affecting your activities, as mentioned before, do check in with your doc and ask for referral to see a respiratory consultant.

BLF helpline is a freephone number 03000 030 555

Yes i get the impression the doctor dont do anything or give me any treatment and i am a nuisance.

I blew into tube last year readings were 77.6 this year they were 82%.

I sleep badly and suffer from anxiety.

Thanks for reply

" Yes i get the impression the doctor dont do anything or give me any treatment and i am a nuisance. " I felt the same so I changed my doctor. New one is a lot better and more helpful. It stops me feeling anxious and other such side effects of belng left by the wayside.

Both those spirometry readings are normal . You should think about stopping smoking as that could cause your lungs to deteriorate though . If you have no breathing problems don’t worry . Otherwise seek advice from a second opinion😊
