Passive vaping: an impending threat to bystanders.

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), also known as vapes, are gaining popularity among youths in many parts of the world, including the US and Europe.

These young vapers are often unaware their e-cigarettes contain nicotine, an addictive substance that is also present in tobacco cigarettes.

Little do vapers know that their habit may also endanger non-vapers. Vapers may expose others to e-cigarette emissions.

Passive vaping, or secondhand exposure, is a condition where bystanders, usually non-vapers, are exposed to the exhaled aerosol from e-cigarette use.

Vaping is touted asa way of stopping smoking. Instead people just keep vaping. Nobody actually knows what chemicals in the vape liquid.

I'll keep out of their way, except perhaps for 1 lady I know and I'll keep upwind of her.

Some of them have massive amount's of smoke that you cant avoid being caught up in. I cross over the road now if I see them. Its horrid and am sure in years to come the dangers of this smoke will become known.

Not to mention at present time the possibility of a person , a carrier,,breathing out covid in the smoke to infect others? This smoke from two smokers of cigarettes next door rises and travels into my house when windows open. You can see the smoke rise up and travel sideways .

Hi, as you know I have had this problem with a smoker out on their balcony just below ours, with their smoke entering our home.

I have successfully stopped them from doing this, by reporting them to the Police using Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 for causing alarm and distress. Of course this does need a sympathetic ear from the police. It is also unreasonable to expect to have to shut up the ventilation in the height of summer as the high temps cause the alarm and distress with breathing, just to accommodate their habit.

With having lung cancer and very severe Emphysema, second hand cigarette smoke does cause alarm and distress. Perhaps even the Public Health Department of the council may be 'arm twisted' into taking action

I had thought of public health, after all I did work for them ( admittedly in another capacity) for many years. But very clever of you to get that sorted it does make life so uncomfortable in summer particularly. But living in close proximity as we do makes me reluctant to chase it. I have complained to them but they take no notice . Only have to move away from wall so smoke can flow freely outwards. they are both at home all time Not noisy l., eave my parking space clear so could be worse.Even when not smoking the perfume is overpowering just coming from open window s. They have 3 children under 6 who n must be affected by living in this. Perfumes are not good for childrens lungs either .Tthank you so much for the information. Hzve made a note of it .

They were only given a caution, but that was enough.
