Fell out of bed and broke my toe !

I don’t believe it , for once l was fast asleep dreaming of some idiot chasing me next minute BANG and all hell let’s loose in the bedroom .

Apparently l started to whisper then l threw myself out of the bed hitting my head with a hell of a bang on the bedroom door some 3 feet away , poor hubby was awake and in the past has caught me but missed this time so watched me fly threw the air . I hit the door with one hell of a bang, he thought ld probably given myself concussion ( just a cracker of a headache ) but as l flew l grazed the tip of my tongue on the carpet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and somehow bent the second toe on my right foot back ...oh boy it’s swollen , stiff , sore and very difficult to walk with so lm going to strap it in between my big toe and third toe for support

Laugh , once hubby had picked me off the floor ( some five minutes later as he was worried about my head ) and inspected all my sore bits ..... we then realised how lucky ld been , no not the fall ! The fact l sleep in the nuddy and my son had not heard a thing so had not found mum stark naked on the floor rubbing her head and her toe with her tongue sticking out ........yes, l do have a bed side to put back up but we took it down when the new mattress topper was put on a week ago .

Ive had some horrible falls in the past including a black eye from the bedside cabinet , a 12 inch bruise and scratch down my right arm from a box beside the bed , dislocating my knee and injuring my right hip .

The squirrel is one of my favourite photos as he’s dressed for a party so l thought he would cheer everyone up .My housekeepers in fits of laughter ( she knows me well ) and is hoping l will still be in one piece by the time she gets here next ......have a great Boxing Day .....Ami .

Its not so funny now as the pain sets in ...my poor toe has gone black/ blue underneath and is swollen , the right side of my head, ear, neck is stiff and tender so l must have whacked it on the chest of drawers while flying to the door and under my right armpit to my ribs is so stiff l can’t lift my arm to turn the light switch off ....talk about hobbling about the house ...what next l wonder ...still at least my tongues not sore now .Ami ....and her bouncing body !!!

Dear me Ami, that sounds awful but something you’re very used to by the sound of it. I’d put the side of the bed up if I were you.

Pete has dreams sometimes that cause him to lash out so I have to stop him from punching me.

I love the squirrel, very cute.

Enjoy your day and hope your toe feels better soon.

Take care. Xxx😘

Ive been shouting out for a few months now and falling , hubby can normally stop me in some way or the full bed rail holds me back but we just forgot it this time.Im now wrapped in stretchy bandages around three toes with a thick sock over it but boy oh boy is it throbbing , my heads still a bit banging but not as much as this morning thank goodness .

Well have a good what’s left of Boxing Day and stay safe , says she who has fallen and injured herself more times in the house than out 😆😆😆😆😆😆

Well, I really don't know what to say to you except that when you chuck yourself out of bed, you know how to make a good job of it! Lol!

I can sympathise with the toe. I broke my big one once (I won't go into the details, but it involved a washing basket, the stairs and a stupid dog that liked the look of my slippers! ). Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done for it but take paracetamol and then wait for it to heal. Yes, walking was difficult - driving even more so! So I really DO feel your pain and hope it soon eases.

Are you on any blood thinning meds? I take Clopidogrel and found out from the paramedics when I passed out in the shower and hit my head on the bathroom floor that I should always get a head injury checked out at A&E. Just mentioning this as I don't remember anyone ever telling me before and if I hadn't needed the paramedics that day, I would never have known.

Get that bed guard back up asap!

xx Moy

Just as well you see the funny side of it. Take care and recover quickly.

Perhaps put the bed against the wall - definitely the safety rail. Get well soon

We can’t put the bed against the wall as on one side we have a bay window .....other side is built in chest of drawers ....other side is where the headboard fits into the head board and bedside cabinets ....which leaves the door side .Of course l could stand the bed upright but then it would mean keeping us both in with big straps from head to toes .....mmmmm bit difficult if you need the bathroom in the night 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Are there acrobats up your family tree? Take care, if poss. Your posts are so funny, but you're making us laugh at the most awful things. Hope you have no more disasters to report for a longish time. xxx

No acrobats but l did used to run a small dance school in Devon , so l suppose lm quite supple .......just not supple enough to bounce of the floor . My armpit and ribs are so sore today and as for laughing , that’s a definite no...no for a while .

Thank you , l hope so but my chest doesn’t seem to like night time and once lm laid down the mice and cats come out to play , at one point last night hubby thought l had a load of cats having a sing sing in my chest along with some mice on squeaky bikes .......hopefully once Christmas is over they will do the other tests on my lungs to sort it all.
