Please help. I have severe brochiectasis and use a nebuliser and take carbostisteine tablets.

I do 2 x 45 minutes a day lung clearance sessions, but the times are getting shorter.

Does this mean the sputum is trapped or means something else?

Yes gets you down a bit

Only “moderate@ myself and use trelegy elipta inhaler and the accapella device

Just finishing 2 weeks on steroids and amoxicillin as had recent flare up.

Re sputum - on a weeks holiday in Sewerby (east coast Yorkshire) and morning walks on clifftop path certainly losses it up.

Noises I make create a 6 yard COVID-19 exclusion zone 😂😂

Keep up the fight

Love the bit about the exclusion zone.

I was like that until they gave me Carbocysteine, the nebuliser really helps immensely as well.

Hi Skipwork sorry to hear you are having trouble with sputum I've got to admit I used to get that a lot first thing of a morning tried the tablets they didn't work - really struggled at times then I started to drink boiled water throughout the day and on a night before bed I drink a cup of manuka honey / green tea - teabags, I have not had any bother with sputum for a good while now.

Hope things improve for you

Thanks. Great news for you. I take some spoonfuls of honey on my breakfast and occasionally throughout the day. Does it help? Hard to say.

I'm not sure that I am understanding you fully. Are you saying that your 45 mins is becoming less before there is no more that you can cough up?

As you seem to be bringing up mucus quite well during your sessions, it depends how you feel.

Do you feel as though you have some stuck? Or not.

Taking the optimistic view, it could be that you are well at the moment and just not making so much mucus.

That is the thing with bronch. It changes all of the time.

Keep an eye on it. Keep working at getting it up.A good runon a clifftop is what my Mother used to do to me.If you feel ok, your breathing is the same as usual and the texture and colour of the mucus has not thickened and darkened you are probably ok

If you don't feel so.good, feel as though there is mucus in there which is affecting your breathing, you may need an antibiotic and I would suggest calling your consultant's secretary.

Thank you. In no way could I run on the clifftop. It seems that my 45 minutes is getting less with no mucus, Is it trapped? Who can tell? I am waiting for a scan.

I tend to need to clear mucous, every 2hrs,day and night.might be worth being more aware of mucous being there, and get it up asap.it may make morn and night ssessions easier

MY - what a pressure on you. Every 2 hours. I do feel for you. Mine then, although bad, is nothing as bad as what you are going through.
