A New Prescription?

Read this leaflet carefully

Before you take the pill.

This is most important

If yourself you're not to kill.

A course at Oxford Uni

Might help you in this task.

Perhaps in advanced Latin?

Why so?.....Don't even ask.

'How to take your medicine'

Even more important 'where'

Most will go into your mouth

But others shoved elsewhere.

As you read on further

Terror starts to strike.

Good gracious all those side effects

This surely can't be right.

Don't panic though, the company

Protects itself from woe.

So if they make you poorly

They can say "I told you so".

It's better not to read those

Cos though you're feeling fine

You'll start to think you've got the lot

Given a little time.

That’s so true Don! Mind you I do now have tinnitus thanks to one drug and I did read the side effects. 🙄

Thank you for making me laugh. Xxx😘💖

When you get multiple aches pains from multiple ailments, side effects and old age, you tend to lose track of it all and just plod on, dragging it all behind you. 😉😘xx

My drug of choice today is Barium in a cup

It probably won't taste very nice and I may want to throw up.

Amusingly they tell me of side effects of constipation.

But if they find out where my swallow went I will take it without hesitation. 😻😊x

in reply to skischool

Glory be!! Action at last. 😀 I hope it reveals something easily fixed. Did you get a choice of flavours? 🤔x

Alas the barium was not allowed manufacturers say it may contain nickel

My allergy to that metal left the radiographer in a pickle

I had another test done with a contrast not so strong

But she couldn't see any sign of what was going wrong

So it's back to the drawing board for further tests as yet unknown

And i am back in my comfy chair with only a cat to hear my moan

One day my luck will change and something will go right

But life goes on you know as normal so it's chicken soup tonight. :) x

We had a nice chat but unfortunately all of Cecilia's colleagues in radiography have moved on to other hospitals Penny,it will get sorted in the end...maybe lol xx

What a bummer! So sorry, after this very long wait. You’d think the possible allergens in the barium would be listed on the appointment letter.

Your patience is to be tested once more :-(

Scruff's and i are just digging out the old gold mining kit and are on the search for pure Barium unfortunately some of the worlds largest mines are in China so maybe we will search elsewhere? :) xx

So sorry to hear that, ski's. I really hope that someone identifies the problem in the near future although I'm not sure how, unfortunately.

Life's like that, just when you think you have a problems solved it has a habit of throwing a spanner in the works but we'll get there in the end. :)

Yes, life tends to be one damn thing after another. These things are sent to try us and they very often succeed. xx

in reply to skischool

Oh no! May contain? But you don’t digest the stuff do you. I hope they come up with something soon.

You eventually poo it out and as you say Master Po it doesn't go into the bloodstream and i also have valves made of nickel/titanium redundantly sitting around in my lungs but rules are rules and if the product supplier says it's a no go then the radiographer is only following their rules and regs,i don't think for one moment i would have had a problem and was happy to sign off for the procedure to go ahead but that option wasn't available.c'est la vie :) x

Sorry to know you didn’t have more of a positive outcome. I thought I’d had a rubbish day but it pales into insignificance compared to yours. I hope the next step in the quest for the missing swallow isn’t too far away 🚸

Oh so true Don x

Wonderful as always Don. I always read the PILs just for a laugh as most of my drugs cause side effects that are the same as the original condition. The antiseptic creams for my Vasculitis rash causes a rash? :-O
