Best check before you buy to see if the neb is suitable to use with your medication.

I got my portable from evergreen nebulisers .....if you e mail or phone them they will advise. I found them very helpful.

Check their site for prices.

Hello, I bought a portable neb from Amazon and it would not cope with my Colomycin. I spoke to a lady at Evergreen Nebulisers who explained to me the different types and what I should be looking for as many models are no good for certain medications.

Ask your consultant if you’re suitable for a Phillip’s iNeb. It’s very small, runs off a battery which stays charged for weeks. You can pop it into your bag and just take it wherever you’re going. They don’t like giving them out as very expensive and the stipulation is you have to use Promixin in it, it won’t work unless you insert the disc that comes in Promixin box! Promixin being a brand of Colomycn (colistimethate). You also have to be able to ‘suck’ as you put your mouth to a small mouth piece and suck to administer. 10/20 sucks all done! Do some homework, find out if you’re suitable and TELL them it's what you need to make your life easier! Good luck. Joy.

Hi Clarice91

I use a mini pari for my colomycin. I too bought an omron and it wasn’t powerful enough for the antibiotics. I called evergreen and they recommended this and one other. I went for the pari as at the time I had a pari from the hospital so the tube etc were compatible. I’ve taken this away with me and although it takes longer than the big ones it does the job. Definitely worth having a word with evergreen though as they are very helpful.

Pari Mini user here, not used for antibiotics but I can definitely recommend it as a portable neb. For antibiotics as you may be aware you should avoid anything that says it’s an ‘ultrasonic’ or ‘mesh’ nebuliser as these are not usually suitable for antibiotics (with the notable exception of the eFlow systems) and unfortunately these things can be costly but they’re a worthy investment if you use nebulised meds regularly. The two main ones are the Pari Mini (or Pari Trek S, Pari Boy S or whatever it’s called!) and the Respironics InnoSpire Mini: these two both run off mains, rechargeable battery, and 12V car lead (the latter are optional so you might not want a car lead, for example, or you might not want the battery, making it cheaper) so you can spare the battery if you’re near a mains socket or have access to a car. The Respironics one is a bit cheaper than the Pari Mini, but it’s worth reading reviews and looking at both on the Evergreen site to see which you prefer :)

As an additional note, the Pari Mobile Boy is more expensive than the Pari Mini + separate carry case and I can’t see for the life of me why. If anyone else knows the difference please weigh in!

The Philips InnoSpire Mini copes well with Colomycin. The correct accessories for nebulized antibiotics can be used with it.
