Hello, dont know if anyone can help. I had a an assessment on my claim. I was awarded a year and half ago and then had to have another I sent the forms back in November and had my new assessment 3 weeks ago. I before was only awarded standard care at around 230 a month. Today I've recieved 650 in my bank and unsure why? I have still been getting my 220 a month but now recieved this.. anyone know why?

Hello. They may have awarded you a higher amount of PIP but normally you would get an explanatory letter. If I were you I would contact them to verify it before you book a weekend away 😛 Hope this helps 😊

Thanks so much, they aren't open on a Saturday so I will call Monday. They said if I do get a higher rate they will backdate me, so I'm guessing it's a back payment from November maybe? Because I still have been receiving me 230 but they did say that wouldn't stop unless I get taken off it. It's so confusing.

Thank you for replying :)

No problem. Sounds as if it could be a back payment. Hopefully it is! Fingers crossed for you 😊

Pip has gone up as we are in April but could be back dated pay also. Usually DWP writes to you regarding any changes to benefits

Hi Chantelle Louise I think you may have been awarded a higher rate as I know someone else who got more money than expected and was scared to spend it incase it was a mistake but it sure wasn’t one, they received a letter saying they had been awarded a higher rate. This could be what’s happened but maybe not, maybe it’s some backdated money? I don’t know but to put your mind at rest you could call them the number is on your other award letter they will tell you why youv got it and put your mind at rest. I don’t know if they are still open but worth trying or wait until Monday good luck and hope you’re day goes well hope it’s good news 🌹🌹

It could be back pay from November maybe. Someone mentioned they do do that.

At times an increased payment can get put in the bank before the letter arrives. Ring DWP and ask why. There are a number of cases that have been reassessed and back dated payments made. A phone call will quickly sort it out.

I would say its most likely back pay from November after all thats nearly 6 months ago so if there was a rise it would soon mount up. But suggest you check on Monday as you don't sound like you have had an explanation letter about changes to your money. Best Wishes
