A Funny PIP assessment tale!

Yesterday I attended my induction day for a pain management program. It was an excellent day and the staff were excellent. During the the breaks all the course members talked about their conditions, problems, PIP etc. Roger (not real name) stated that the nurse wrote on his PIP assessment that Roger could part his hair and was well groomed. Which made me smile as Roger had not a hair on his head! Roger then went on to explain that at age thirty a medical condition caused his hair to fall out. I do not mean just his head but all his body hair. And so for thirty years he as not had a hair anywhere on his body. The fact was noted on his PIP form. However the nurse still managed to see him part it!!!!! Lol....Roger won his appeal and the complaint is still ongoing into the assessment.

Roger showed me the report...At first I did not believe him.

I don't know whether to sshake my head in disbelief, or laugh my socks off.

Maybe it wasn't a hare she spotted and Roger just happened to have a rabbit under his hat.cracking tale and glad to see justice is being done.

This highlights the unconscionable actions of the assessor to pick out an obviously inaccurate and ludicrous statement to deny a rightful claim and cause further suffering to the claimant.

That gave me a smile, heres another one for you I was discharged from pain clinic but at the bottom of my discharge letter it says to DR I will keep you informed as she returns to clinic, bit of a contradiction. As said these are the people who supply the info to DWP & social services for your needs financial or otherwise to be met. As for the patient it is totally demoralising to see incorrect facts jepodising your rights and sometimes making you look like an untruthful person. Glad to hear you sorted it out.x

That is just so ridiculous. I wonder if they just cut and paste these assessments on the computer? I am glad I wasn't there, I would have definitely started to giggle, and probably be thrown out!! 😅 Hope you are well Badbessie . xx 🙋🐕

He should take that story to his local newspaper. Hopefully it will be picked up by the nationals who are currently interested in the scandal of wrong refusals due to assessor bad training and ignorance ( or even falsely inventing a reason for a refusal as seems to be the case) plus the cost to the tax payer of the majority of tribunals where these decisions are eventually overturned. The whole system is making millionnaires of assessment company owners and lawyers when the money should be going to the genuinely disabled.
