Air Purifier

Hi all . I have moderately severe emphasema. Can anyone recommend a good air purifier , one that will remove dust, pet hairs and smells from neighbour in the flat below me using paint sprays etc.

The best ones are HEPA filters. Various makes about but you will need one capable to filter the room size/volume that you are going to use it in. Also make sure to look at the availability and cost of replacement filters. As for the idiot using paint sprays indoors, contact environment health, it is a health risk and pretty sure there is legislation in place, there is for commercial spray shops.

Amazon or Argos come to mind, both will of course deliver. I bought 2 of them.

Just add, a lot have built in "Ionisers", make sure that they can be switched off. Ionisers produce Ozone, which is not recommended with lung disease.

Thankyou for that info 2Greys. I was about to buy an ioniser to help get rid of cooking smells......I won't now!!! 😀

Unfortunately it has a negative ion generator (produces ozone) and I cannot tell if it can be switched off. Your best option would be to contact the seller and enquire first, also enquire about the max room size that it is suitable for.

I am very interested in your reply regarding Ozone. Would an Ozone controlled swimming pool be in the same league or is this completely different?

Yes they would be. Ozone is a toxic pollutant that will amplify other pollutants and irritants like pollen. Not advisable to have high concentrations with a lung disease it could trigger an exacerbation. The Ozone is used as a disinfectant instead of Chlorine.

I’ve got this but unfortunately if somebody lights a bonfire, which is pretty frequent around here, it filters that air in too!
