Hi, my name is Lisa. I'm think in I have touch sick time to be writing this, but what the heck, you never know when some good experience can come your way. I've always been a strong, hard working person. I'm 55 now but still feel 30 something and keep myself up as best O can. My main problem is ling problems I was born with. Not a smoker or drinker, discrimitive either. When I'm not suffering from lung infections I go on road trips with my dog Jenna who's in her 15th year and doing good. It gets lonely being sick cuz it usually lasts about a month. Recently went thru a 13 year long break up and know stress kicks in every time. I love the mountains and am trying to get to s lower elevation. Wildlife lights my fire. Hoping to live at least 25 more years of adventure, especially spending time with my I grandchildren and being amongst the forest and wildlife. My goal is to be. In southeast Alaska but it's much harder than I thought. Love life so much...

Wow! You do so well. Those road trips sound Fab! N I do envy you those. I don't drive as Women drivers where not commonplace, here, when I was young n so I never learnt. Now I'm a bit scared I could have an Asthma attack on a Motorway. Shame you where born with the condition. Just luck of the draw, I suppose. I have COPD including chronic asthma. And stupidly, I did Smoke. Though never much. Packed up 15 years ago, before my diagnosis. I had Chicken Pox pneumonia n it did a fair bit of damage. At present just getting over a Chest infection n Yes, they do make you feel old n a bit useless. I get lonely too. N every one seems to have a partner, kids or friends. But, like you, I don't take this lieing down. I get up, get, dressed n get out. Everyday I possibly can. I walk up the Beach. Slowly I admit. But, I love Nature n Wildlife too. I've a feeling you will live a lot more than 25 more years. You have a good strong attitude n more to do. I think that's half the battle. Isn't South Alaska very cold? Looks beautiful but, maybe somewhere a little bit closer to Hospitals n facilities? Best of luck. 🌻😊✌️

Thanks Bubba! I too have been diagnosed with asthma when very young and COPD in my mid 30s. Still worked 2 jobs and raised a family I'm proud of. I've been to National Jewish Health for lungs which is top in the nation, have had several good pulmonologist over the years. I came from 8200ft alt. in the mountains of Colorado. It was so so beautiful... Now I'm at 5200 ft alt. Which is much better when not sick. I realize if I can get to below 1000 alt. My oxygen stays in a good range all the time with NO need for supplemental 02.. Been to SE Alaska several times and the weather is much milder than Colorado or Idaho where live now., Beautiful lush gardens grow, good fishing and wildlife. Juneau isn't far but I am doing lots of research in that area. Maybe NW Washington State is another option. Thanks a bunch for your reply, Lisa

Hoping this lung disease gives me a chance to live at a low elevation without 02 supplement so I can be free of it longer. My son and other family live by coast on N. Calif but it's so expensive and I really don't want to live in Calif. Good luck and keep that immune system as healthy as you can. At sea level I do not need supplemental 02 but it's difficult on limited funds to just move again. Best wishes to you.

Your welcome Lisa. I find it very interesting to talk to American people. So many different Cultures n heritage. I just can't imagine living so high up. Where I live is below Sea level, on land reclaimed in the 15th Century! I'm not ever so sure that's good for breathing, but the Sea air seems to help. I was born around 1000, we have our Mountains and Peaks too. n do wonder if I'd be better living back there. I would have thought that SE Alaska was much Colder. What do I know? I've never been outta Europe.😊 I have a friend that visits michigan n she says that's very nice, homely, Countryside. Not much of a Fisherwoman, but I bet, the Lush gardens n Wildlife are just fabulous. Do let me know what you decide. 😊✌️🌻

Enjoy the ride! I hope you love every minute. I started swimming yesterday to help build lungs and body. Noone was in the pool where I went and it was heavenly. Will go again today. The water is geothermal, 90degrees, so perfect for me as I dont like cold water. All the prednisone and other meds throughout my life have made my bones and joints hurt prematurely so this kind of moving and weightlessness is so good. Breathing decent so far this 6am morning. Hope you are too!! 😊💪✌

Great that you started Swimming, when I'm well I try to go every other day. N mostly manage 32 Lengths which is a half mile. I always feel so much better afterwards. N it's very good for excersizing the lungs. Ooh geothermal, that sounds fantastic;! n yes, I have bone density problems too. I,m looking forward to my few days away. Talk soon 😊🌻 ✌️Dee

Hi Dubba, just wanted to say hi and tell you its now been 3 weeks sknce the high fever, left lung painful pneumonia. Im feeling so good and have lots of energy! My doctor of 20 years, and actually all the drs Ive had since my respiratory failures, heart attack, tracheostomy. That went on for 4 years back when I was 45. All my drs now trust my exerience, knowledge of my body. Because of this I have been in control of my disease process and the doc just makes sure I have my "emergency kit" so I can take care of myself before it gets bad, and it can get bad. My kit includes, prednisone, antibiotic that works 9o% of the time, 1200mg mucinex, fever reducer, and oxygen of course. Ive perfected it with immune supplements, exercise when possible, even on my bed.

I was in and out of hospitals via ambulances, flight for life helicopters, my friends and fam. Its been almost 10 years since Ive been in hospital for my lungs! I am over this last bout and preparing to go on my road trip with my dog Jenna Ive had almost 15 years. Im 55 and feel 30 somthing today. If not for the joint and bone problems from steroids most my life, Id feel 20 something today. Parden the long reply, it just feels good to feel good. On my way to NW Washigton up by Canada in 2 wks, I will see my grandchildren for a day. I hope they are all well due to my immune issues! I thought about seeing them on the way back just in case. My daughter (adopted when she was 3) is so understanding and I know she would tell me if the littles arent well.

I hope this finds you feeling good and hopeful that we can take control of our diseases and stop letting them control us so much. Take care and know that people care so much. Its a wonderful thang for us lungers, and we have so much to offer. In Aug I will have another CT scan to see if a 8mm nodule in my left lung has changed. Posslble surgeries on foot and knee so I can walk better. Those things always get put on the back burner, but I do want them fixed. But only if my lungs and body are good. Im preparing it the best way I can and keep searching for ways to do it better. Grateful... 😊💪✌💖
