Hello all I've just had a call from my sister saying she has got 6 very large blood clots in her lungs 4 in one and 2 in other she suffers deep vein thrombosis she is only 32 and never had very good health she has been asked by her consultant to find out who else has this condition our mum did but clots never got to her lungs she died many years ago my question is my sister was told last year she had a condition called b laden something to do with the lungs I think can we request to be tested for b laden and deep vein thrombosis I know this is a very worrying time for my sister she lives on her own with 4 young children

Sorry to hear about your sister and I would say she should mention anything and everything to get all the help she needs.

Thank you sassy59 I'm going to go with my sister on her next visit to see consultant to tell them our families history of dvt I had spelt her condition wrong in my post it's called factor v laden her type of dvt I will also get in touch with blf as dedalus has suggested thank you all again

Sorry to hear about your sister. I had pulmonary embolism brought on by an untreated dvt back in December and I got discharged from the hospital clinic last week and I am on anticoagulants.

I found the psychological side was worse than the physical side of things.

That's bloody unfair having that happen at 32 though but things like that don't discriminate. I was 41 when it happened.

Yes you can test for genetic problems but you need to be off anticoagulants a while before you can be tested.
