Family photos.

Lyd12 posting her lovely family photo triggered me to look through mine. I've been having trouble with my chest and an old school friend of mine, going back to the 1940s, died last week, so I was feeling a bit low. Looking at my old photos alway lifts me up.

This one is of my wife, my daughter, my son and the scruffy family dog Pongo. We are in Wales near Snowdon stopping for a spell on our way to the top. No chest troubles there. This was 1966 when we seemed to see more of the sun than we do now. Sadly my daughter in the only one alive now.

What a wonderful photo of your lovely family Don. These boxes of old photos are priceless! I did that walk about 10 years ago and on a similar sort of day. The views from the top are phenomenal. Might have to take the train up now, and walk down! XXX

I think this was the first outing with my new Kodak Instamatic 126 camera. I used cassette slide film from Boots which transformed photography for me. With a projector and six foot screen it served me well for many many years.

Ive always been keen on photography and still like to get the favourite ones printed off. Even as a little girl, I always took charge of the camera. XXX

Great photo Don and nice to see. Looking back is always a mixture of joy and sadness but good to look at the old photos sometimes. Time passes so quickly. Hope you’re feeling better.

I was 14 at the end of 1966. Xxx 😘

I bet you were a little corker. ;-)

HI Don,

Looking back over the years and the Photos is a double edged sword:) I know I always think "where did I go wrong - what happened to the boy/man in those Photos" but I really enjoy the memories especially when memories are all that is left.

I have had the majority of my photos scanned (well did most myself) and have a digital Photo frame in the living room with all the best most memorable ones being a slide show. Sometimes it is difficult to look at some of them because of the happy times of the past. however I would not be without it.

Snowdonia is my "Home area" and hope to move back there as soon as return to the UK. Your happy family Photo has brought back some real happy memories for me - Thanks for posting it

Bitter sweet memories there for you Don, thanks for sharing. Snowdon has memories for me too. My parents went up n the train with our youngest, a baby, and Tony and I and other two boys decided to walk up. Well, we got lost, some walkers set u s on the right path down and we had to phone the summit to tell my parents to get the next train down! My dad had a few words to say, they had been so worried. Not the happiest of memories!

We only went a little way up on this occasion to have a picnic, as I remember. We are not wearing the right gear to go any further. You must have been a very brave family to have tried.🧗‍♀️😀
