Hello Jon100 .

Twenty eight hours on a bus is hellish enough without air conditioning blasting. 😨 I'm not sure what to suggest but getting a window seat may provide some warmth if it's sunny and sitting far away from the air vents may also help. In Japan we have warm packs that you can stick on your under shirt and they stay warm for a few hours. That has helped me before. I don't know if you have these in the U.K.

I hope the trip is worth it in the end. Take care and hoping you don't too hard a time of it.

28 hours seems a long time does this include your ferry time where you may get respite to at least be mobile for a bit x

Yes there is a 3 hour ferry break and lots of hour stops so you do get some respite .i do ask driver to lower the air conditioning down but it gets tiresome. My chest get really bad with cold and .drafts. i was hoping people had some tricks to help

Maybe wear a scarf and breathe into it, to keep your lungs warm.

I hope you have a lovely time when you arrive in Spain. It is a long trip, but very exciting!

Bon Voyage

this sounds daft but maybe a scaff over your mouth will help. it will act as a filter and most inportant will warm the air that you are breathing. if anybody has a problem with how you look then thats there problem not yours. [edited by administrator]

Sounds like a nightmare trip or rather, ordeal at any time but 28 hours on a bus must definiritely be hell for people with chest problems.

Wear the snood or as others have suggested, a scarf you can comfortably loop round your nose and mouth. Make sure to use either Vick's or Boots, preventative nasal spray to stop airborne germs getting into your system and maybe moisten the edges of your nostrils with something like Vaseline. Drink lots of water, close your eyes and dream of the Med and all the pleasures ahead.

enjoy !

Have you ever thought of investing in a portable nebuliser? And using saline solution which can be obtained on the NHS. Nebulizers available at Argos. It provides moister for the lungs and helps stop the drying out. It is also silent and works on two batteries. Could nebulise in the coach toilet if embarrassed to use with mouthpiece.

Only a sugestion! Good luck. Wish I was in sopain at the moment!
