Thanks Don. A good watch.

Time_2_drink first enlightened me to the fact that Hospices did more than care for terminal cancer patients, which is what I thought was all they did. I think that I will be increasing my donations to them after watching that program and hopefully others will too.

I was referred to our local hospice. Their brief is to care for patients who have life-limiting diseases that are no longer responding to treatment. It is very refreshing to be looked after by people who are not frantically trying to fix things and put well-being, quality of life, comfort and care above aggressive interventions.

Hi Don,

I have first hand experience of this. My consultant has recently referred me to the local hospice. He said were not throwing in the towel yet but there is a lot of things they do that I may find helpfull.

Since going along to the first indiductery day I have signed up to the fatigue course which a 1 1\2 hour lesson once a week for 4 weeks. It teaches you how to avoid fatigue and keep enough charge in your batteries to climb the stairs at the end of the day. 😃

There's loads more courses to follow and you meet lots of new friends with a wide range of health conditions. We're encouraged to discuss our problems and our ways of dealing with things in order to learn from each other.

It's all good Don and as you say not just a place to go and die 😊.

Will look forward to watching this program on I player

Tony ☺

Cant locate the programme!

It was just part of a news item so probably wasn't held for very long. It just brought to the public's attention the work that hospices do in addition to caring for terminally ill cancer patients. Most of that information has been better covered by the above thread now.
