This must be very rare. Your lifestyle eliminates most of the common causes. There are some endocrine disorders such as hyperthyroidism and some congenital disorders that affect the valves within the heart but I am sure that would have been picked up. From what I remember certain viral infections and metabolic disorders can bring it on but with over a 100 rarer known causes you may not get an answer. However if you did not get HRT when you went into early menopause that could have put you at greater risk of CCF if other factors were involved. I hope you get an answer.

Unless you have congenital heart disease you are very young to have heart failure. Perhaps it is to do with early menopause. I do hope you get it sorted out, all the best xx

Thank you ' yes on wrong site I think thanks for taking ur time to reply

Hi as this is a site for lung problems I am not sure we can help. There might be a heart site on here otherwise you would be better off contacting the British Heart Foundation, I think they have a support forum.

I have COPD. Six months ago I went to the doctors with shortness of breath. He gave me some tests and sent me to hospital, supposedly for a stent to be implanted in my heart veins. Unfortunately before this could take place I had an NSTEMI heart attack. The cardiologist said he wouldn't take the risk of doing anything with my heart, since he couldn't tell if my SOB was due to my heart or lungs. They sent me home with Plavix and aspirin for thinning my blood. I am also taking a statin to help reduce my cholesterol. Further blood tests since leaving hospital have revealed my potassium levels are too low, so I have been taking six potassium tablets daily to increase the levels. I use QVAR, Ventolin and Anoro Ellipta for my COPD. I had been so concerned about my COPD, that I forgot about other aspects of my body, mainly what I ate. That helped to give me CHF according to the doctor, high cholesterol.

I have attended several pulmonary function clinics, and am now going to a cardiac rehabilitation course. The main difference between the two in the intensity of the exercise they do.
