I lost my husband six weeks ago to copd and although i know his condition was severe, on thinking about it i have the impression they did not want yo save him this time , maybe he had bevome a drain on finances or they needed the bed, they just seemed this time to give up on him , they saud had i thought sbout pallativevcare drugs , i said i woukd think about it , but befire i had got back to his bedside they had injected him with the diamorphine.

Hello mickeysmess, maybe the hospital was trying to make your dear husband as comfortable as possible. My heart goes out to you and l am so sorry for your loss. Xxxx

Hello Mickeysmess, sorry to hear of your loss. Your husband is at peace now with no more suffering. It is normal to question the passing in the early days and the injection would have helped your husbands breathing. But everyone wonders at these times if something else could have been done. In time this will be easy to bare. It is obvious the dr felt no more could be done, take care as a widow myself I understand how it is there is no easy way. Come back and talk if you need to , will be thinking of you at this sad time xx

Your husband obviously wanted to spare you any suffering when he asked staff to help end his suffering. He was helped when he needed it most.
